ORIGINAL VERSION:

Untitled Pixel Portret (UPP) is an homage, reinterpretation, or a new continuation of the works of the well-known artist Adam Helms (Unnamed Portrait). This whole series basically originates from old photographs, which, have fallen into the hands of Adam, took on a new form, and moved to another stage with new meanings and ideas.

When I first saw them, I decided to continue the metamorphoses of this series in a new, modern digital primitive environment closer to me, preserving the main element of the mask without the photos themselves as old blurred memories of people, but which clearly convey their essence and spirit.

All this is also closely interrelated with the method of execution since new images in digital contemporary art have run far ahead, without having time to form their own fundamental foundations, the basis of all modern art is still pixels.

In addition, I pursued the idea of creating a bridge from the familiar (Nameless Portrait) to digital UPP as a form of a new art form, digital primitivism, since the gap between the familiar and pixels looks closer than to the familiar modern digital art. I hope when the time comes for a new form of self-expression of artists, the Nameless Portrait will find itself there in the future, in a new form.

I am very grateful to Adam Helms for his assistance.

REVISION:

Untitled Pixel Portrait is an homage or reinterpretation of the works of the well-known artist Adam Helms’ Unnamed Portrait. The series originates from old photographs, which had fallen into the hands of Adam, taking on a new form with new meanings and ideas.

Film photographs of people with unique stories and experiences taken in various places at various times become photos of the masked and anonymous. Who are they? And what can we know of them?

When I first saw them, I wanted to preserve the central element of the masks without the photos themselves as old blurred memories of people, but which still clearly conveyed their essence and spirit. Essentially, to continue the metamorphoses of this series in a newer, more modern light and a domain familiar to me.

The basis of all modern digital art is pixels. This established my method of interpretation and execution. I pursued creating a bridge from the Nameless Portrait to the Untitled Pixel Portrait as a new art form, a sort of digital primitivism; new images evolving without the fundamental foundation of a storied past.

This NFT collection is a metaphor for the rebirth of information.

I hope that when the time comes for a new form of artistic self-expression, the style and execution of the Untitled Pixel Portrait will find its place.

I am very grateful to Adam Helms and thank him for his assistance.
